The species known as the eucalyptus globulus is also known as the common eucalyptus, or blue gummy. It is a tree native to Australia, which can reach large sizes up to 55 m tall. It is grown quite intensively today, and is visually detached from its blue bark, which tends to peel. The leaves can reach about 15 centimetres long, and they are provided with a blue-grey pruiine, which explains why it is also called the blue gummer. The flowers are very popular with bees that make a honey with a rather strong flavor.
Surprisingly, the eucalyptus globulus requires to be found on soils with a large quantity of water, but this is not because it consumes a lot of water. He is able to go deep with his roots to draw water. There are plantations of eucalyptus in southern Europe to make paper, as in Portugal for example. It is used extensively to extract essential oils that are very useful to cure a number of ailments. It contains: aldehydes, pinene, azulene, tannin, resin, camphor, hydrocarbons.
The essential oil of the common eucalyptus has been widely used for many years. He was once, according to legend, given the power to cure malaria. Although this is not the case, this oil still has very interesting properties. In fact, the eucalyptus contributes to maintaining normal glucose metabolism*.
Instructions for use Take 2 to 3 drops of essential oil on a neutral medium or mixed with a food, as part of a healthy and balanced diet, without exceeding the recommended doses.
Do not apply to the skin before sun exposure. Not recommended for children under 3 years of age and pregnant and nursing women.
