Lavandin

Lavandin or Lavandula X hybrida comes from the natural crossing between Aspic lavender and true lavender. For the uninitiated, the Lavandin looks like it is mistaken for true lavender. However, several elements differ these two plants.Lavandin, for example, has a high waist, wide leaves and purple flowers. Its ears are more sophisticated and larger and its stem can measure up to 80 cm.That of true lavender, however, rarely exceeds 40 cm.The smell of washer is camper while the lavender is thinner. It is mainly used in the industrial sector, especially to flavor household products.Lavandin is sterile.Reproduction is done exclusively by cuttings. For maximum productivity, the Lavandin must be planted in the intermediate zone, between 200 and 800 m above sea level.
