Marooner of India

The Indian chestnut tree is a tall tree. At maturity, it can easily reach 25 meters high and wide. This tree has a straight thick trunk, entirely covered with brown and greyish bark. First smooth, the trunk takes scales with age. It also lets grow many stems that form an ovoid crown, large and particularly tufted. Easy to recognize, the leaves of the Indian Brownberry are composed and palmate. Very well provided, they offer a thick shade in spring. In May, the Marronnier of India dress white flowers in pink or yellow heart, depending on the case. Appearing at the end of summer, the fruits of the tree are thorny yellow-green capsules containing a small shiny brown seed.
