Walnut
Walnut is a fairly common tree native to Eurasia, known for its impressive longevity. The strongest individuals can live up to 400 years and have a height of up to 25 metres. The walnut has a straight trunk, usually grey, with smooth barks that crack over time. In addition to its fleshy fruits, this tree is mainly cultivated for its precious wood, highly sought after in cabinetmaking, fine carpentry and marquetry. For indoor use, its wood is homogeneous, hard, dense and has fine grain. In addition, walnut wood is veined and has a brownish colour. For a vigorous tree, it is advisable to plant the walnut on a soil rich in organic matter.
