Pervenche

The small pervenche or Vinca minor L. is a perennial herbaceous plant common throughout Europe. It grows mainly in shaded woods and close to shaded rocks. Also called pervenche officinale, this plant has a lying stem that can reach 2 to 3 meters in length. Its leaves are persistent with glossy limb and pennate nerve. It gives blue or purple solitary flowers with a corolla with 5 lobes that are truncated at the top. The flowers then produce fruits composed of two elongated follicles.
