Focus
The concern or Calendula officinalis L. is an annual or biennial herbaceous plant of the family Asteraceae. It grows spontaneously throughout Northern Europe, but is also cultivated for plant therapeutic purposes. The concern is recognized by its branched stem, angular, hairy rather strong. A little floury, its leaves are whole and of oblong or elliptical shape. It gives a capitule of ligulate and tubular flowers of orange yellow colour. If the central flowers of concern are hermaphroditic, those that are peripheral are female. Their fruits are curved achenes full of bitterness.
