Gold Verge (Solidage)

Also called solidage, the golden rod or Solidago canadensis is a perennial herbaceous rhizomatous plant of the family Asteraceae. Measuring between 30 cm and 1 m, it has erect stems with terminal inflorescence, branched underground stems and tracer rhizomes. Alternates, its leaves are linear, elliptical, pointed, toothed and green in colour. The golden rod gives tiny yellow flowers, arranged in clusters.
