Description
Lavender is at the base a plant that comes from different crosses. It is therefore a hybrid species, but these genetic crosses were made naturally. So, these are two species, Lavandula vera and Lavandula latifolia, which gave the lavender, and especially the super lavender, which is one of the four different species found in the plant's natural habitat. This one comes straight from a very sunny region, Provence, ideal for cultivating this type of species.
In particular, it is in the south of France, on the plateau of Valensole, especially in the Alpes de Haute Provence, that the most intensive cultures of lavender are carried out. The latter is used more often than the lavender, as lavender flowers give more essential oil. This explains why this species is particularly popular. The parts that are used to make the essential oil of lavender is the flowery tip, and its components make it an essential oil highly appreciated.
The various assets contained in the lavandin are: polyphenols, camphor, linalol, but also different alcohols, which give it all its properties, and make this essential oil one of the great classics in terms of herbal therapy.
