Pickled lotter

Like peas, the cornicate lotter belongs to the fabaceous family. It is a perennial herbaceous plant whose visible part measures in total, about ten centimetres. On the other hand, underground, roots can extend over more than a metre of soil. The cornic loter has alternate leaves and a full stem. From May to September, the plant appears papilionaceous yellow flowers grouped by 3 to 6, depending on the case, all at the top of the stems. After pollination, the flowers form pods that will protect the seeds until they reach maturity. These pods are the fruits of the plant. Very common, the pickled lotter is widely present in grasslands and lawns. Furthermore, this plant can grow up to 2,000 metres above sea level.
