Lycopod

The lycopode is attached to mosses and ferns and belongs to the family Lycopodaceae. It is characterized by a thin stem dragging to the ground up to 1 meter long. This stem has densely leafed and erect branches. The leaves of the lycopode are only 0.5 cm in size and are soft and very narrow. They are slightly denticulated on the edges and cover with a long white silk thread visible to the naked. Lycopode is known by other names. It is also called a wolf's claw or herb at the clubs, especially because of its shape. This perennial, flowerless plant grows mainly in pastures, forests and moors in Northern Europe, Great Britain and North America.
