Menthe pouliot

The fillet mint is a perennial creeping rhizomatous plant about 20 cm long. Like other mint species, this plant produces a very specific fragrance, similar to that of peppermint. Very popular in oriental cuisine, it is commonly used to flavour soups, salads, taboos and tea. It is also part of many desserts. The fillet mint is easily recognized by its upholstery shape, its small greyish leaves of rounded shape and its magnificent lilac or pink flowers. Particularly sensitive to weather, this aromatic plant grows especially in coastal areas, on the banks of the rivers of Brittany and up to 1800 meters above sea level, all around the Mediterranean basin.
