Originally from the Balkans, the partenelle or large chamomile is a perennial herbaceous plant of the family Asteraceae. High 30 to 70 cm, this plant has erect green stems, very branching and aromatic petiolated leaves. Its flowers are white and yellow in colour and have a particularly pronounced balsamic smell. Flowering takes place between June and August. The large chamomile grows in full sun, ideally in a well drained and sandy soil. In the wild, the partenelle grows mainly on the edges of the paths, in the rocks, the hedges of the gardens, and the cultivated fields.
