Plantain

Known under several names including carpenter grass or lamb tongue, plantains are perennial herbaceous plants of the plantaginaceae family. Originally from Europe and Asia, it has more than 200 different species, some 20 of which grow in France. It can be found quite frequently by roads and hiking routes. The plantain can take different forms depending on their location, but generally it has lanceolate leaves grouped in basal rosette. It has a branched, fine and hard stem that bears flowers in the shape of cylindrical or ovoid spurs.
