Laurel
The laurel is a dioecious shrub in the laurel family. Measuring up to 20 m high, the laurel is characterized by persistent and tough aromatic leaves with wavy edges. Dark green on their upper faces, the leaves are lighter on their lower faces. The laurel stem is straight and bicolored. It's green up and grey down. Between March and April, the bay leaves small shades of white to yellowish flowers. Measuring between 10 and 15 mm, the fruit of this shrub is a small purple black berry. Its appearance vaguely resembles that of a cherry. It usually matures at half the fall season. The laurel or laurel-sauce originates in Mediterranean regions.
