Ronce (Mûrier)

Also known as mulberry or blackberry, the ronce or Rubus fructicosus is a sarmenty shrub native to the Caucasus mountains in Asia Minor. The raspberry plant is recognized by its small black edible fruits in the form of agglomerated drupeoles of an average centimetre. Ligneous and thorny, the ronce can rise up to 1.5 metres high. It can cling to the trees thanks to its thorns and thus marcotte several meters from the strain. Ronce has biannual upright, then relapsing stems. It gives pink white flowers arranged in clusters at the tip of the stems. Its leaves are alternate and semi-persistent and consist of 3 to 5 toothed leaflets.
