Radius

Radius or Raphanus sativus is both a vegetable and an annual or biennial vegetable of the Brassicaceae family. It is mainly cultivated for its thick and edible root which has a characteristic flavor. Probably from Asia Minor, radish was already eaten as food 4,000 years ago. It is fleshy and voluminous, and can reach 50 cm long. Rugged, it is black or red outside and white inside. The leaves are worn by an average 60 cm tall stem, alternating and hard to touch. Its flowers are clustered and have a white colour. Its fruits have swell and spongy siliques.
