Bettender

Like the great nettle, the pariétaire integrates the Urticaceae family. Also called bottled grass or grass from the nuns, this very common perennial herbaceous plant is usually 70 cm. It is characterized by reddish hairy stems and weakly rough dark green leaves. The latter have hairs that allow them to stick easily to our clothes. From June to October, tiny greenish flowers gather at the axel of the leaves. The parietarian loves stony soils, rich in nitrogen nitrate and dry. This plant is frequently found in the wild on the old walls, along cracks and gaps. In the kitchen, the betting leaves and stems are added to the salads. They also eat cooked, with some vegetables and sauces to raise their taste.
