Sarriette

Satureja hortensis is an annual perennial plant in the Lamiaceae family. It is native to southern Europe and Africa and is very common in dry places in southern France. Measuring on average between 10 cm and 40 cm, the sarriette has very woody stems at the base. Dark green, its leaves are hard and shiny. They are opposite, sharp at the top and ciliated on the edges. White or rarely pink, its flowers are small and fragrant. They are arranged in elongated terminal clusters and have a bile corolla and 5 welded petals.
